A breath of Fresh Air

Sometimes the tools, tips, and tricks we used to take photographs can apply to everyday life; photographer or not. Many of us have sedentary jobs or are inside for the majority of the day. After a while this can cause severe boredom, or negatively affect our health. Sometimes you need to get up from your desk, step outside, and get a breath of fresh air. Getting out of the office for at least 15 minutes a day will have more of a positive impact on your health than you realize. What's even better is that you have photography as an excuse to do so. In my case, I have an even more solid reason of going outside; the potential failure of the challenge.

So, today I got out on campus for the first time since I've been there and did a little exploring. Remembering my previous tips involving awareness and perspective, I got this shot of some kind of flower. I have no clue what it is, but it made for a pretty picture.

Of course, this wasn't the only photo I took but it was the one that came out the best and made the cut for my challenge. I tried my hand at some architectural photography with some of the buildings on campus but I think I need a lot more practice in that area...and a wider lens, maybe a 10-18mm. So, if you're doing this challenge along with me, remember to take 15 minutes and go outside with your camera or cell phone and see what kind of art you can make today. Remember, if you'd like to join me on my 30 day photo challenge, use #JHAC30 on Instagram.
